        that is a VARIO.
        You can buy these at a two-weeler schop(bromzaak) and online, but they are very expensive.

          I think he’s asking how to mount a Fox clutch on a vespa ciao, not what it is (in fact, it is a vario clutch, a part of the variomatic system).

          Well, if you want to mount a clutch like this on your vespa you need to buy a Fox axle: the axle this clutch originally is mounted on. Then you got to attach the part you mount the clutch on, to the gear part of an original Vespa vario axle.

              but you can look around on this site for an occasion.
              that is not that expensive.

              an new variomatic system +.- 400,- euro.
              than u got an mollossi system

              but you need another rear gearingcase. a good one costs between 85,- and 150,- euro
              more as 150,- you don’t got to pay for it, more is not fair.
              and newones don’t exists, they’r not in production anymore.

              its dutch but maibe u can translate it.

              this is what you need

              achterkoppeling cpl imi vespa 49,-
              malossi variateur vespa 59,-
              V snaar vespa 15,- (order the good vsnaar for your model moped)

              and the pressure spring in the rear clutch, is not so good.
              u can better instal the yellow one what’s included by the variomatic kit.

                Hanno piu possibilita di variare che puo dare piu velocita, e sono piu facile a tarare.

                Si trovano a seconda mano.

                Cmq non hai gia provato una variatore piaggio per ciao? Non sono perfetto ma adattare quelle dei scooter e costoso e difficile, e non mi convinci che sei un elaboratore a dita magiche.
