i cut my crank 10mm and 5mm, and opened the intake to 13. i’m running the 13:13 carb, leovince circuit pipe, malossi hi flow air filter, and a 66 jet. i’m using the stock 50cc cylinder as well. i think i’m running lean, and the bike has terrible low end and about the same top end i had before i did these mods. has anyone cut the crank and used it on a stock cylinder before? any ideas as to what jet i should be running with this setup? also, i didn’t open up the intake window on the inside of the case, only the hole on the outside, should i split the case halves again and open that up? i was looking at these pictures http://www.vespa-ciao.nl/forums.php?m=posts&q=7347 and got some ideas of where to start.

I’d try a 58 jet or so, this should be way too big.

Usually people do the inlet and ‘window’ as well before they touch the crank.

But to me, what you describe sounds usable for a stock 50, maybe our timing expert has a second opinion.

Try more rigid clutch springs, a smaller jet, put a metal filter in your malossi debrisbox.

And welcome onsite, pictures are always welcome : -)
