Hey there,
I have seen the invitation for the 2008 Zuiderzee Tour.
The bad thing is that I only roughly could understand everything in the invitation. I really like what you guys are organizing over there every year. That sounds like great fun. This kind of tour would never be happen here in Germany due to strong police contols.:no
Now I’m seriously thinking about to join you on this tour. Also there are one or two other guys from the Nordic Vespa Power forum who like to come with me to the tour.
Would this be ok for all of you who are driving that?I’ve heard so far the brommer should be able to drive 60 km/h. That should not be a problem but what happens if an engine breaks down after a while? Will the whole starters wait for one guy till his brommer is fixed again or will they all wait at the next break point? Are there break points for resting?
What should the drvers bring with themselves? A tent, and what else? What is includet in the 125,- Euro ? When is the latest date to pay the money and announce for the tour?
Do you have pictures or films from the last tour in 2007?
A lot of questions but as I never have heard about such a fantastic idea I hope that you will give me as much background info as possible.
Thanks,
Ralf13 januari 2008 om 20:33 #144788Goddamn typed a hole story 🙁 site is a bit FUBAR
The zuiderzee tour 2008 is a hole new concept which is held for the first time. I think your confused a bit with the gumball 🙂 which is held a day before the big vespa-ciao.nl meeting
Zuiderzee tour 2008

This is the first time Mike and Jelle are organising this. We are going to drive the big lake in holland which is about 400km.
The speed of 60km/h we picked because you drive an average of 40km/h but when its a straight line you can go nicely about 60km/h to keep some pass in it.
There arent so many police controls atleast when we drive with a group op 20 people they will just laugh and we will pass on with 40km/h 😀
Price
The price of 125 euro is made up. You can pay more or less but its just a think i calculated a bit. The first night the groningers are sleeping at Mike his sisters place, this is free so it wont cost anything cept for :bier and food. I think were going to barbecue and have some fun.You should think about 50 euro benzine and oil , and about 40 for food , and 20 for sleeping , 20 for other things.
Date
End may / begin JuneSpare parts
Iam taking some tools with me , perhaps my old 43mm DR evo and pully + belt 🙂 something like that. A vespa engine can easily run 200km on a day! have some faith in your vespaSo the gumball and zuiderzee are 2 complete diffrent routes keep that in mind. I know some nordic guys want to come at the vespa-ciao.nl 2008 meeting
13 januari 2008 om 20:35 #144789this is great news!!:D we’re very happy that you guys willing to join us with this tour!
if an engine breaks down we’ll first try to fix it, and otherwise we arrange something for a pick up:) but that only in worst case!
if u have your engine running nice , it should give no problems! so put a few hours in fine-tuning and setting your engine and it runs fine!:)
some of us have allready experience with this kind of tours , so we’ll trust this:)
Mike13 januari 2008 om 20:45 #144790That is very nice!
Here are some movies and pictures from the gumball (that was also a tour, but then from Alkmaar to Groningen for the meeting 2007©)
