Hello, Im from finland so i really dont understand your language so good.
And i was thinking that i wanted to get more speed out of my piaggio, i was thinking about 80-90Km/h..
So i was thinking, that id buy a bigger cylinder. And if i understod right, the DR evo 43mm cylinder is good and cheap ? + dont wanna tune my “carter” very much. So if i buy the cilinder what do i have to do then ? if i understod right u have to tune your crankshaft or something ? Isnt it working if you buy some tuning crankshaft? And can someone tell me where i can buy the DR EVO 43mm cylinder.thank you, + sorry for my bad english,
:lol
26 juli 2008 om 13:00 #145041Hi and welcome,
You don’t want to tune your carter ‘very much’? Either you do or you don’t tune, if you want to reach 80km/h(which you won’t without tuning) you will have to enlarge the inlet and draw the extra transfer ports into your carter.
Have a look at the how-to section, it’s all there.
You’ll also need a 13mm carburettor and a decent exhaust(polini top one/simonini racing).
jmpb.nl has the kit, but i don’t know if they send to finland.
greets
26 juli 2008 om 13:02 #145042if you don’t want to tune your carters you can’t get an engine what is capable to do 80 km/h. you got to tune your carters to reach that speed.
the DR Evo is a good cilinder, but i don’t think you will reach a speed of 80 – 90 km/h with it. i think you need an Malossi 46,5mm or something.

maybe a bit expensive, but it’s fast.
if you tune your carters to this cilinder and buy a fast exhaust like a simonini or something, you can reach 85 km/h or something. maybe buy a Polini Evolution engine or Malossi Reedvalve engine? it’s much better because it’s got a reed valve.

sjaak trekhaak26 juli 2008 om 13:05 #145046Thanx 🙂
Yea, i could maybe tune my carter if id know how to, but its all in .nl so its kinda hard. 🙂
i knw that i have to enlage my inlet, and buy a bigger carb. and a exhaust.
but how do you ‘draw the extra transfer points ito your carter’ ?
thx for your reply 🙂26 juli 2008 om 13:08 #145047The DR topspeed is about 85 km/h with pully.
I drive about 80 -85 km/h i think 😛 but the hole engine is tuned 🙂
The stuff which is changed is:
– Crankshaft tuned for the 43mm DR
– Crankcase tuned for 43mm DR and 13mm inlet
– 13mm carburator
– Small pully (65)
